Annual Visiting Professor Program

Also known as our "WIMS Day", this one-day program held every year in the Fall features a nationally-renown visiting professor. Several lectures and workshops are offered throughout the day covering a wide range of topics on career development, work/life balance, leadership skills, among others. All faculty and trainees are encouraged to attend. Past years' programs have featured Dr. Deborah E Powell (former Chair of the Board, AAMC), Dr. Claire Pomeroy (President, Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation), Dr. Lois Margaret Nora (President and CEO, ABMS) and Dr. Deborah C. German (Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida).

Our 5th Annual WIMS Day was October 2019. This event featured two keynote lectures with Dr. Laura Schweitzer, PhD, followed by an award ceremony recognizing those with excellence in leadership and mentoring, and breakout sessions throughout the day.
